A 2-part story looks at efforts to preserve North Carolina's coast which are undermined by actions of the state legislature.
"After hurricanes Fran and Dennis sent pools and concrete decks hurtling into homes along North Carolina's coast, the state Coastal Resources Commission required that pools be built farther from the ocean. But before the pool rule went into effect last August, the General Assembly -- acting at the request of real estate agents, homebuilders and rental managers -- wiped it out"
