Vineyards, Activists, Clash in Sonoma County

Activists are concerned about wineries transforming the landscape but vineyards counter that they are taking measures to mitigate adverse impact.
A protest group which includes celebrities has formed to fight against the adverse impact of vineyards on the landscape of Sonoma County, California. But the Sonoma Country Grape Growers Association claims thatthey are taking preventive measures such as helping to create an ordinanceto prevent erosion in vineyards. Though 82 percent of residents say that the wine industry has a beneficial effect ontheir quality of life, many locals are critical of vintners that replace Redwood forests with vineyards.
