LA Times Editorial: Why Can't LA Stop Bickering Over Transit?

Governor Davis has committed to get California moving. But will LA be able to take advantage of this opportunity?
The LA Times opines that Los Angeles County has too often been unable to reach concensus over important transit decisions. Governor Gray Davis' promise to get California moving, but unless LA can agree on some basic transit plans, yet another opportunity will be lost. "We in the Valley . . . lost millions of dollars for transportation projects in the past because of . . . a lack of consensus among residents and community leaders," says Richard Alarcon (D-Los Angeles).
