New casinos, Newhall water problems, MWD Water, BART Vote
The Wall Street Journal's California Edition highlights several of the weeks top planning issues. The gambling industry is lobbying hard in Califonria for new casinos in Californai and Nevada. The Newhall Ranch development is temporarily halted due to water problems. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California wins a victory in its dispute with the San Diego County Water Authority. A measure to extend BART into downtown San Jose looks like it will be on the November ballot.
