Urban Growth Boundaries Supported in Ventura County

Overview of Ventura County's support for SOAR measure and smart growth development efforts.
During the last five years, two-thirds of Ventura County's voters have approved the Save Open Space and Agricultural Resources (SOAR) measures that set urban boundaries, limiting development outside the city in protected open space. Examples from downtown, Filmore, Simi Valley, Port Hueneme and Oxnard focus on the marketability of smart growth efforts currently underway.
