Ballot Approves Sprawling Development

Residents of Buckeye vote in favor of Arizona's largest master-planned community development.
"Buckeye residents gave a ringing endorsement to the 35,000-acre Douglas Ranch project, which will become the largest master-planned community in Arizona. Buckeye's aggressive growth plans include more than 240,000 homes. Douglas Ranch alone could have up to 83,000 homes and more than 27 schools."
