Amended Everglades Law Sparks Debate

Opponents of the amended Everglades Forever Act say the new law changes the intent of the old -- lacking pollution limits, deadlines and requirements that polluters paywhile proponents say amendments authorize a sound plan.
"How does the amended version of that 9-year-old landmark cleanup directive change the state's cleanup program?Opponents of the amended act -- including environmentalists -- argue it guts the original law...Proponents say the amended version authorizes what Bush calls a 'sound' long-term plan."
