Voracious Growth Threatens Future Congestion

Various transit related proposals are evaluated for the Phoenix Valley area to combat burgeoning growth.
"Gridlock: If the tax fails and nothing is done, the Valley will be in paralysis, according to Eric Anderson, MAG transportation director. From 1990 to 2000, the Valley's population increased by 950,000. The number of registered vehicles increased by 810,000... MAG figures show the region will continue to grow by 45 percent every 10 years."
