New Home Site For Day Laborers
15 May 2003 - 12:00pm
The Ventura County Grand Jury commended the city of Thousand Oaks for finding a place for day laborers to wait for work and offered some suggestions to improve the site.
"After years of complaints about the men who gathered daily at the corner of Fairview Road and Crescent Way in the hopes of getting work as landscapers, painters and builders, the city last year spent $50,000 of its federal funding to build a permanent site for day laborers".
