The agency's Caltrain Modernization Program is currently seeking a Director of Project Delivery to be responsible for delivering the Caltrain Early Investment Program and the integration of CBOSS with corridor electrification. The successful candidate will be in charge of system integration and interoperability of program elements, ensuring on time performance within budget. This is a high profile position with political and public interaction. Partnership and coordination with the CHSRA, FRA, FTA, and UP, as well as regional and local/community stakeholders will be essential for timely project delivery. You will provide technical expertise to the Executive Officer as well as direct and oversee the project delivery team in the areas of engineering and constructions, operations, and system integration; provide support to the board, and other governing bodies; be responsible for meeting project delivery schedule and budget and negotiating of major contracts and changes with contractors. You will provide technical support for environmental process, program management and planning, plus ensure effective interface and integration of activities with other organizational units. You will hire team members, evaluate performance, and handle disciplinary issues; assure prompt reporting to Joint Powers Board (JPB) stakeholders and partner agencies, and represent JPB in various capacities.

Qualified candidates should have sufficient education, training, and experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to a Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or a related field, plus full-time experience in delivering large, complex, and highly integrated system projects on time and within budget. The successful candidate must have proven ability to build consensus with regulatory, municipal and public constituents; strong communications capability in both written and presentational formats, and demonstrated leadership skills in a multi-disciplinary environment and self-managing, self-motivating leadership skills. Must possess a valid California driver license with a safe driving record.
