The San Mateo County Transit District serves nearly 100,000 customers each weekday on its SamTrans buses, Redi-Wheels paratransit vehicles, Caltrain commuter rail cars and shuttles, as well as a robust capital program. The Transit District, which is in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, is the managing agency for the San Mateo County Transportation Authority. The agency's Planning and Development Department is currently seeking a Grants and Real Estate Analyst to conduct fund programming, grant development, and grant management, plus provide property management, land development, and capital project support.

For this key role, we seek an experienced professional to prepare grant proposals and review funding, prepare project reports to granting agencies, plus monitor grant activities to ensure timely delivery and compliance. The selected candidate will coordinate applications, monitor reports and perform other grant related issues. This position requires an experienced individual who can provide professional-level analytical research on grant and funding issues. This hands-on position requires an individual with a background in real estate who can support the District’s lease portfolio, enforce lease compliance including rental payments and insurance, plus support capital improvement projects, review property appraisals and property acquisition and tenant relocation for compliance with all state and federal regulations. This position will also evaluate developer proposals and agreements, and prepare reports and resolutions for the District’s Boards for real estate agreements and grant items.

Qualified candidates should have sufficient education, training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. We seek an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Planning, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field, and sufficient full-time planning experience. Strong computer and written and oral communication skills required. Must possess a valid California driver license with a safe driving record.
