The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Oklahoma City Area Regional Transportation Study (OCARTS) area, seeks a highly motivated, skilled, self-starting professional to fill a key position within the Transportation & Planning Services (TPS) Division. This position requires excellent analytical, communication, data management and problem‑solving abilities.

Under the general supervision of the Special Programs Officer II, the Transportation Planner will be responsible for the coordination of intermodal transportation planning efforts related to regional transit initiatives, freight and airport access within Central Oklahoma.  Other responsibilities include ongoing coordination with state and local transit operators, ensuring MPO compliance with federal non-discrimination laws required for transportation planning and funding, monitoring of completed multimodal projects within the region, assisting in development of the long range transportation plan and other ongoing MPO planning efforts.

NOTE: The position will be filled at either the Assistant Planner or Associate Planner level, depending on qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:

Assistant Planner: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, or related field, plus one (1) year of professional experience.  A Master’s Degree in related field may substitute for the 1‑year experience.  Starting Salary Range: $37,000 - $44,000

Associate Planner: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, or related field, plus three (3) years of professional experience.  A Master’s Degree in related field may substitute for 1‑year of experience. Starting Salary Range: $42,000 - $50,000
