Under direct supervision of the Planning Director the Planning Technician provides administrative and clerical support services such as preparing agendas, minutes, legal advertisements, maintaining property files, posting legal notices and preparing meeting packets and other tasks as needed. The position provides information and technical assistance to applicants and the public on the Comprehensive Plan, zoning and historic preservation regulations, subdivision regulations, sign regulations, Open Space Plan, administrative and development review applications.
The Planning Technician receives and processes various administrative applications for planning approval, permits and licenses. The position provides technical review of development applications such as variances, subdivisions and conditional use requests. Attends meetings and provides staff support to advisory committees. Participates as a team member on professional planning projects providing research, data collection, public communications, mapping and other technical support.
This is a full-time position with benefits, pay range is $14.85-$16.50/hour DOQ. Associates or Bachelors Degree or two years relevant experience required; Knowledge of planning and zoning practices, two evening meetings per month.
