$1,309 - $1,928 per week ($68,072 - $100,266 estimated annual)

In this key role, the Senior Planner will lead in the development of transportation plans, strategic plans, area-specific plans, policy plans, and will provide technical analysis for projects. Responsibilities include making planning analyses and recommendations; leading and/or managing projects with other professional staff and consultants; and serving as a liaison with cities, other regional/local agencies, and community groups regarding transportation issues. In addition, the Senior Planner will develop work plans and budget estimates for studies, assist in the development of capital programs and grant applications for transportation funds, prepare public presentations and materials, and prepare planning reports. The Senior Planner will work under the general supervision of the Manager, Programming and Monitoring.

Qualified candidates should have sufficient education, training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. The required knowledge for this position is typically obtained through but not limited to: Bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation planning, transportation engineering, economics, public policy, or related field, as well as sufficient progressively responsible full-time experience similar to the essential functions listed above, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Must possess a valid California driver license with a safe driving record.
