A Short History of America by Robert Crumb (poster)
25 August 2009 - 11:44am

Comic book artist and illustrator Robert Crumb created this series of 12 drawn panels in 1973 as a comment on what was happening to the American landscape. The 12 panels show the evolution of a patch of American countryside from bucolic nature to train stop, from homestead to small town, and finally to an electrified, crowded contemporary scene.
This poster is an excellent illustration of how planning (or lack thereof) can effect the landscape. The poster is 24" by 36" and suitable for framing. Ships in a tube, with no folds or creases.
Price: $14.95

Even if the report overestimates the costs by a factor of two and underestimates the tax-benefit by a similar amount, the conclusion would be pretty much the same: destination resorts cost local government and taxpayers money.
