Planetizen Courses provides an affordable, proven, easy-to-use, and entirely web-based system for taking courses online.

Lessons

Lessons are designed to take 20-30 minutes to complete, enabling you to fit in a little studying whenever you have time -- during a lunch break, before work, or after you put the kids to bed.

Each lesson includes a combination of text, images and links to additional information. If you encounter anything that is unclear, or if you have additional questions, you can ask your question in one of the online discussion forums, or contact the course instructor or Planetizen staff directly.

Online Discussion Forums

Students and instructors can interact using the discussion forums by posting questions and comments on the course material, as well as technical support questions to the Planetizen support team.

Your access to most courses is available for 6 months. This provides an opportunity for students enrolled in the course to share their experience with other students and read about the experiences of others.

Quizzes

Topic quizzes are easy to use, and present students with multiple choice questions.

There are quizzes at the end of each Topic, in addition to an end-of-course exam. Students have three chances to pass the quizzes and exam with a score of 70% or better.

Online Chat

You can also interact with fellow students via a unique weekly (and voluntary) online chat. Chat times are announced on the Planetizen Courses page -- log in to chat with other students who are logged in at the same time.

The course also includes a special scheduled Instructor chat session where students can ask questions of the course Instructor. In addition, the course Instructor sometimes logs into the weekly student chats.
