Friday Funny: Yield to Drunks

In the face of a recent surge in accidents, a small town in Romania has installed new traffic signs warning drivers about drunk pedestrians who may be laying in roadways.

"The 10 road signs, which also show a person crawling on their knees while clutching a glass in one hand, were erected in popular nightspot areas close to the city's bars and restaurants."

The small town of Pecica built the signs after seeing a similar display in a German town. The signs read "Attention - Drunks".

Friday Funny - My Mom Is So Berkeley That

A new Facebook group was formed last summer called “Your Mom Is So Berkeley.”

“Your mom is so Berkeley she’ll sign anything given to her outside a grocery store,” Roberto Santiago, 33, the page’s creator, wrote in an early post.

The group has more than 1,160 members — many still remember their family’s co-op number — and more than 750 posts, some of which are below. (Almost all begin “My mom is so Berkeley ...”)

She made us drink lumpy, instant nonfat powdered milk to protect us from radioactive fallout from above-ground nuclear testing.

She used to volunteer in my classroom wearing men’s work boots.

I was born at home on homemade tie-dyed sheets.

She drew braids on Babar, so she could show a woman (O.K., a female elephant) in a leadership role.

Since I wasn’t allowed to have a Barbie doll, she gave me a doll made out of mud from Africa.
